5 Vegetables For Autumn

5 Vegetables For Autumn

Make the most of the season by using what nature has provided us with. An added incentive, is that fruits and vegetables that are in season, are generally more affordable. We’ve chosen 5 Autumn vegetables namely jalapeno poppers, sweet potato, butternut, broccoli and red pepper. Turn the dinner table into a warm and inviting banquet.

1. Jalapeno Poppers - Hot for Poppers

Jalapeno Poppers

Jalapeno poppers are like cupcakes and chocolate -They make you really happy. This spicy treat is within your reach with a simple mix of cream cheese, wasabi paste, chilli and chicken. Stuff the filling into the jalapenos and you’ll be blown away.

2. Sweet Potato - Sweetly Baked to Perfection

Sweet potato is a great alternative to normal spuds as it’s packed with nutrients that keep you feeling fuller for longer. Add Knorr Classic White Sauce and you have a creamy sweet potato volcano. Freshly chopped coriander and spring onion will add a fancy touch to this dish.

3. Butternut - Risotto if you Please

Butternut Squash Risotto

Risotto is a delicate procedure we know, but we’ll guide you through it. A good tip is not to stir constantly which adds air into the rice, making it sticky. Keeping the rice at a medium simmer throughout cooking is also a good idea (instead of cooking over a really low heat). The KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot will flavour the grains quite nicely but remember not to use cold stock as it might disrupt the cooking process.

4. Broccoli - I see Trees of Green

Broccoli and Bacon Pasta Bake

These lovely green trees get a smokey and salty taste of bacon in this dish. It’s so easy to prepare and offers a different take to the usual steamed veggies on the side. Remember to keep the broccoli crispy because no one likes soggy vegetables. If it’s bright green, its nutrients are shining through!

5. Red Pepper - Splash of Colour

Easy Chicken, Mushroom and Red Pepper Stew

There’s no such thing as dry chicken with this dish, and it only takes 15 minutes to prepare. Once you add Knorr Chicken and Mushroom Pan Dry Cook In Sauce, the meal manages itself. Plus red peppers make a brilliant addition with eye-popping colour peeping through.
