Kitchen Tips To Make Life Easier This Month

With the school holidays and the long Easter weekend just behind us it’s finally time to settle back into our normal routines. Have a look below for some top timesaving tips that are bound to both make your life a breeze and help you minimise mess in your kitchen.

Make Mess-Free Pancakes
Now you can let the kids help make pancakes without worrying about the mess. After mixing your pancake batter, pour it into a zip-lock plastic bag and place in the fridge for an hour or two to thicken. When you’re ready to make your pancakes, simply snip off a corner of the plastic bag and squirt the mixture directly into the hot, greased pan. No mess, no fuss!

Make The Microwave Spotless
All you need to clean and sanitise your microwave is a lemon and water! Half fill a microwave-safe bowl with boiling water and squeeze in the juice of a lemon. Add the empty peels to the bowl. Set the microwave timer for five minutes, and watch as the citrus steam gets to work. After the five minutes are up, wipe down the insides of the oven with a clean cloth to loosen any stubborn grime.

Serve Perfect Cake Slices
If you've ever had to cut a piece of cheesecake, you know it can get a little messy. The good news is there’s a way to get around this problem using dental floss! Non-waxed, unflavoured dental floss is the perfect tool to slice any soft cheesecake or layer cake.

Wrap each end of a length of floss around your index fingers, secure with your thumbs and stretch the floss tight. Now press the floss down firmly on top of the cake to make a single clean cut right the way through to the bottom. Repeat at different angles to create even, neatly divided slices.
