With the outdoors getting a little chilly, Autumn is the perfect season to introduce your kids to cooking. Here are a few ways you can turn the dinner prep into a fun adventure!
PLAY DRESS UP
Since when does the kitchen have to be boring? Pick a theme and make prep time a dress up party! You could choose a country and dress like the people that live there. Want a dish to match? Our Spicy Mexican Mince and Bean Casserole
is a great place to start!
LET THE KIDS CHOOSE
When you give your children a say, they are immediately interested in what you’re doing. It’s the same in the kitchen. Get your kids to choose what you make for dinner and they’ll soon get stuck in. We have a feeling that our Hot Dogs with Chickpea and Vegetable Sausages
will be first on their lists.
PUT THEM IN CHARGE (A LITTLE)
Even the smallest responsibility in the kitchen makes children feel important. Give your kids little jobs to do and they’ll love their time in the kitchen. These could be anything from peeling the carrots to getting the ingredients ready for mom.
FEED THEIR IMAGINATIONS
Create funny characters and pretend to be them while you cook. Maybe you’re silly Italian chefs whipping up our Cheesy Mince and Sweetcorn Pasta Bake
. Or perhaps a group of clowns making Fun Mac ‘n Cheese for Kids
. Anything goes!
